I agree with you Razako, it would be nice if thread starters were allowed to delete their own threads. I don't think there are any modifications for YaBB that allow this though.

That would lead to LOTS of abuse...I can see loads of people deleting it because "He was mean to me..." "etc...etc.."

Perhaps a better approach is to not allow the poster to delete his post after it has a reply ? ;)

that would also work ;)

You can already delete your own post.

I agree you should be able to delete your own thread.

If you would allow posters to delete their entire thread, you effectively give them partial mod powers because they can delete posts from other people as well in that case. Apart from stupid questions there can also be relevant information in the thread which will be lost when the thread is deleting, causing frustration and reposts into new threads.

I really don't think ANY threads should be deleted - loss of information really sucks. Whenever the forum went down hard last time, lots of information was lost that will never be posted again - or it may take months to be posted - that is tragic, as there are a few posts on here that are invaluable in this hobby. I see deletion of threads kinda like burning books - not good.

C0ld already looked for something like that, but there aren't any mods that allow the OP to lock their own thread

what if you set a time limit?

like..
first 20 minutes you can delete it,
usually stupid or quick answers are delivered in less than 20mins. so a thread can just go unperceived and nobody loses.
