Hi all been too long i still have my 405-445-473-532 i need a yellow any suggestions or deals :can:

Welcome back to LPF!

In terms of yellow not much has changed.

CNI still offers 593.5's up to 20mW and 589's up to 80mW(which a GB just finished on this particular model). If you buy from CNI and you want a 5mW+ version they might not agree to ship, and if they do they will need to ship it in 3 parts to make it past customs.

DragonLasers 589's Spartans are a hit or miss. A lot of members have received good over-spec unit, but 2 have received very poor and well under-spec units so it might a gamble. For $400+ I personally wouldn't take such a risk so if you can look elsewhere.

LaserGlow's Rigel are the same. Except their Rigel-5 has gone up from $400 to $449 so it's not the cheapest option but you shouldn't be anything but pleased with their units!

Pick and choose =)

Laser glow also won't ship to the US now and CNI said they wont ship to the US even in parts. Damn shame. I think this is why Dragon Lasers has been such arrogant a-holes to deal with regarding 589's. They know they have the US market to themselves. Personally since Adam from DL wont even stand behind his advertised power output for 589's I would never risk my money.

LaserGlow will ship any of their pointers that are <5mW's, along with any labby regardless of output power to the U.S =)

Oh haha, gotcha. No problem

That being said, It sucks we can't get 5mW+ pointers into the US anymore!

Well, in theory you could. If you have a relative/contact in say, Canada, you could ship it to them, have them replace the label, pay them for shipping to you, and get all the >5mw lasers you want.

On a different note, what I think would be really neat is a pointer/labby combo. Maybe a big heatsink your pointer fits into that extends duty cycle. :)

Simon use to do that very thing IIRC. I've seen a pointer/labby somewhere in a post before.

If I'm not mistaken Canadians citizens can't purchase >5mw handheld lasers from Laser Glow.

The closest you'll get to a yellow diode laser pointer is the CNI model at 561nm. There's still a gap between 561-589nm.

Okay, it was just an example, although maybe not a very good one. I'm not familiar with laser laws in Canada, but last time I checked (4 years ago) they were less regulated than in the US.

That's weird.

I tried buying the Vega-6(peaks at 6mW) to the US and it wouldn't allow me to purchase it, no worries.

When I changed my location to Canada and tried buying it it allowed me to buy it which is strange, just a strange occurrence I noticed.

Just did a test checkout myself on the Polaris-1100 from laserglow. Wouldn't ship to the US, but no problem to BC Canada (I have relatives there).

CNI will only ship handhelds >5mW to Canada in parts not complete but won't do the same for the USA.

Probably just higher profile. In other words ship more units than laser glow. CNI is a pretty big company. Everything from 1mW pointers to Laser Guide Star Adaptive Optics for astronomy.

That's kind of what I was getting at, just didn't know how to word it. :D

Speaking of CNI, do you know of anyone that has the average quotes of all or most of their lasers? I'm sure someone does, I just don't know where to look. :thanks:

since i've been dealing with that company for this group by i'm putting together i have an idea of some prices. Which one?
Specifically the 556nm or 561nm ones. Not really expecting anything under a few thousand, but I was just interested. :D
