First hene - Ebay one?

Hey all. I've never had a gas laser before, and after opening a thread, many people recommended me a He-Ne. I was looking for a CO2 but the he-ne could be cooler because of the light they say :beer:

I found this one on ebay.. it is pretty cheap if goes out for $11 + shipping, isn't it? I do not have THAT money, but $20 is buyable

What you people think?

I've seen it, nice tube but without a power supply. I think for an introduction to lasers it's better not to mess to much with the high voltage. Under $20 would be nice though. Just bid and see what happens. I've missed great stuff just by not bidding on it.

Nah, I like the HV supplies. I'm working on my 800v 0.5A supply for capacitor charging lol.

Well I have a corresponding power supply on the way so I will be lighting it up it less than 2 weeks!
