First DIY Red, need help

I want to build a laser, but I have some questions:
Do I need anything more than this:

Do I need a heatsink if I put it in a flashlight host?
What mA should the driver be set to?

the answers to your questions would be yes, yes, somewhere between 50 and 400, and yes.

the obvious hint here is that all the answers have been answered numerous times on this forum, besides some great tutorials on the basic builds. besides that your questions are not very specific.

You should take a look at my 'Pocket Mini Kits'!

They are a very good build, but you must have some basic soldering skills, and know how to harvest and mount your diode into an AixiZ module. (unless you buy a pre-mounted diode)

There is an option to have a FlexDrive pre-mounted in the kit with the current already set!
