First attempt am I doing this right?

Thats an interesting question about the oxy/act. Used to use my torches constantly before injuring my shoulder. Never tried wearing the glasses for lasers. Not sure where I have any to test. I'll have to see if I can find any later.
The forum isn't very active on the weekends just for your info.

Yea it would be kind of handy to know if those lenses would work. Possibly something I could use as a spare or have handy if I am showing someone else.

Thanks for the heads up on the forum being quiet. As long as there is no probless with it plan on turning this thead into a running log of my build. With any input greatly appreciated.

Got my load tester and driver today. Tester was in an antistatic bag which I was impressed with. Surprise the Aixiz driver was not.

I am ase certified in electrical too. But a LD is waay different than a regular automotive load.
I have used this exact driver in a few applications. It works pretty good but the main chip gets hot real quick. I recomend a small heat sink. Like the ones SL sells. Good luck and read read read. I may be ase certified in electrical but with cars i hate it. Dealing with ld's has givin me alot of random little helping tools. It has made work easier

I agree it is all different in its on ways, but love electrical work. Honestly have been doing a lot of reading, but it never really clicks until I get my hands on things.

What size drivers are you working with that it heats up? Was under the impression that under 1A it isn't bad. Most I plan on working with for now is 250mA.
 
Neither really needs a film ESD bag. They
are 100% PN junction AFAIK, especially the
test load. In some extreme cases, they can
be damaged by ESD, but not like FETs and
laser diodes. They are also somewhat
hardened by being in circuit.
 
Yea that's what I figured with the test load. But used to seeing circuit boards shielded. Good to know it isn't as critical as with the diode.
 
I was running that driver at 350mA and it was getting hot pretty quick
 
Oh thanks for the photo lightning. I was thinkin heatsink the load tester lol.

Not the prettiest build but it works so I am happy lol. Still gotta get some good batteries and I am done.
