While I hope so, the fact that he earned a $110,000 a year salary before, leads me to believe he isn't.

Fun Fact: Cops, especially that those stay for over 10 years, have great pay and benefits. On top of this they can retire at 50, and in many cases continue to receive half their salary.

It varies, half, is actually very conservative though. In a lot of cases it's even full 100%, and only reduced to half if they retire early.

It's just that there is this hollywood perpetuated stereotype of the poor cop always never having enough money, living in a crappy apartment, driving an old car, etc,.

That's just not that case.

For the most part they are very well compensated. A lot of departments also allow fairly flexible scheduling that permits these guys to also moonlight as bodyguards, or security.

Population of Germany is roughly 82 million.
Population of the US, is roughly 314 million.

Police per 100k in US: 256 vs 298 for Germany.

Here's the kicker... 587 killed by cops in the US in 2012.

Pretty sad when the Germans, world renowned hardasses, actually have a kinder, gentler, and apparently more effective police force. (Based on crime statistics, and incarceration rates.)

Aww come on, who are you guys kidding. No one on here has the flexibility to keep up, we'd all end up as wheelchair invalids.
