MOS was very Angst-y (yeah I made that up) The thing with his father was supposed to represent his trust in his father wanting to keep his powers a secret, even if it meant his death. When Clark asks him if he should've just let those kids die and Costner is like "maybe" I thought that was pretty heavy. I actually felt Zod's motivation as over the top as he was, it made sense. Ok, not very believable if you break it down. I agree
