Eye safety Quick Responses Needed

@pianoman, DragonLasers charge a LOT for shipping. Really, those $8 goggles from FocalPrice will work fine, TRUST me. I have two pairs of them, as well as the OEMLaserSystem goggles AND WickedLaser SportElite goggles. The $8 goggles work fine, they just aren't respected enough because they are cheap. Really, I think it's messed up that (to me) it seems like only I and Dr.Ebert post about how they work, and immediately everyone else says NOOOOOO don't get THOSE... get THESE, they cost more and people have been using them for a while. I'm not saying I have anything against ElektroFreak, quite the opposite in fact. I think he's a great member and I enjoy the help he's given me by creating the DIY sound card tutorial

I also have those focalPrice anti-green glasses. They seem to work great, although I don't have a LPM to test them. The blu-ray and green dots come up as a faint yellow. I was also going to order from DragonLasers, but the shipping was too high for a single pair of glasses. I was going to buy glasses for blu-ray and red lasers, and shipping from DL wasn't too bad if you're buying two. I held off buying them, because I wanted to see which glasses Darkarmyofone will be carrying in his store on August 7th, because I am interested in fast shipping.

Thanks everyone but I bought some yellow eyeware from scopeboy. He said they work great. When tested with his 150mW bluray, the power coming through was less than 2mW. My bluray is only 130mW, so it will be slightly less than that. This should be more than sufficient, as I wont be pointing it towards my eyes, or giving it the opportunity to reflect into my eyes of anything. Thanks guys! BTW, how do you delete a thread, I think that this one is no longer needed.

I'm pretty sure you can't^^. Only a moderator can, and they usually never do. Besides, this thread can serve some purpose towards new people wanting glasses

As Alex posted.... I see no reason for this thread to be

@Alexizupinhea... I'm fairly sure the goggles you are using may be
adequate... Have you tested your less expensive goggles using a
Laser Power Meter ??
Without test results done by myself (with a LPM) or by someone
selling Laser Safety Goggles... I (only speaking for myself) would
not use them for my needs... But that's just me...

Just testing it is a good way to go about judging the usefullness of protective eyewear. If you use the laser you want to protect yourself from, you can see how much power is absorbed (OD), but also verify that the glasses will -keep- absorbing the light for at least some time.

Its not uncommon for materials to bleach out under UV and thus become less protective over time. So testing it with the glasses between laser and power meter for a couple of minutes sounds like a very good idea to gauge basic functionality.
