Eye injury from lasers

Thank you, This helped.

And where can i find those 7$ Goggles? Seems interesting.

You need to make your own judgement, but I am very sure that wearing these compared to not wearing them and staring at a 1+ watt blue laser on a white wall is the better option.

Amazon.com: Uvex S1933X Skyper Safety Eyewear, Black Frame, SCT-Orange UV Extreme Anti-Fog Lens: Home Improvement

Here are my personal tests on these goggles.

I am in the same situation. I want to show my friends my laser when I finish it but I don't have a lot of money to be spending on goggles for them all do those cheap ones will be my only choice. I guess I will have to be extremely careful about being aware of reflective surfaces and/or just limit it to sky beamshots.

Best to stick with outdoors when showing people. And do not let them play with it. For some reason most peoples first action is to point it at someone.

Indeed.

I let one of my friends shine my 50mW red laser in the sky when i was testing my low power flashlight. When i was joking with him and aiming on his face with the flashlight he did the same thing to me with the laser.
Luckly it was just 50mW and didnt hit my eye(s)

So alot of people dont know the risks of these lasers.

Wait I don't understand...
You had a low power laser and he had a 50mW?

No i had a flashlight, No laser,
Its not harmfull at all you know.

So i pointed it at him, And he pointed back to be, With my laser, Which IS harmfull.

He tought it wouldnt matter.

It is natural reaction. Few days ago someone lased me. I was just walking in the evening on the street .. then from nearby building someone just lased me. It looked like 50mW green. For sure more then 5mW, the beam was solid bright. Still it was no scary inferno of 400mW, or even 200mW. He did not aim for eyes, more like on the ground in front of me. My first reaction was 'gee and this happens when I don't have any of my lasers of mass destruction (or any at all) at hand'.

Yeah if I were to let anyone near my lasers, there would be no way for them to have left without know everything about laser safety lol

LOL

Imagine:

Your walking outside at night with your dog when suddenly you get lased by a 35mW Green laser by 2 kids laughing at you from their window.

You reach for your pocket withdrawing your 1w Krypton green laser, Cocking it and releasing hell on them.

:)
