[EPIC] Bought 2 445nm laserdiodes with <2Watt

hello community,

today i searched on ebay for laserdiodes and yea.. i found an epic article.
1 laserdiode with 445nm and about ~2watt output for just.. 37$!!!

so.. i bought two of them :drool:

Looks more like an A140 to me, but the pictures don't give me enough detail to judge. I stick to DTR's site pretty religiously for getting my diodes. The spec sheet on that puppy shows 1.2A as "absolute maximum" so I am not sure what to take from that. We exceed spec sheet recommendations often but who knows. I just don't like to risk it if I cannot find a model number or the projector twas pulled from.

of course, i know the risk but i'll try it for this price. maybe i'm lucky :3

Yes it is an A140 you can tell by the shorter spacer. Also the only way to get A140's right now is the flood of A140 refurbished projectors out there so they are probably pretty heavily used.

Figured as much. Last time I saw them up for sale they were going for 23 dollars. That being said, they will make for a nice mid-power 445 with a good life expectancy, depending on how used they are.
