EEK! Steam won't connect!!! :O

Hey guys,

I have been looking all over for a fix for this but I keep getting an error when attempting to log into steam. Everytime I try it says

Steam is having issues connecting to the steam networks
or
Connection unavailable

My internet is working fine(as you can see), so I am not sure what is going on. Anyone else having this issue or know how to fix it?

Well, now it is starting to work. I guess changing my network settings around made it think I was a different computer and bypassed the errors.

One thing I tried was changing my network settings to be a static IP address and that fucked my internet connection. So then I changed it back to detecting the IP automatically and Steam thought I was a new computer.

Whatever works I guess. :/

I've had that happen sometimes but I just exit and reopen the application and it connects fine. You can run the netstat command in the command line to see if you're even connecting to the steam servers. Or, run it when you are connected to steam and then use that info with a tracert or pathping command to then diagnose the connection issues when it won't connect.

Everytime I run a pathping or a tracert I just want to kick AT&T Uverse in the teeth.

And yeah, I tried killing the application and all related processes and then restarting Steam, which prompted an Update, but even that didn't help. In the end wrecking my connection for real and restoring it was the only way I guess.

"Fine, let's see how you like it when there really is no connection!" - Pissed off me

"Oh, THAT connection. Why didn't you say so?!" - Steam...
