Little bit pissed off at ebay's newest attempt at trying to make the masses happy. I recently sold a laser diode on ebay in a aixiz module. Jackass decided to do the kipkay hack and what do you suppose happens?? He fries the damn thing. Ok fine. one would think lesson learned. BUT NOOOO! he comes back on me saying I sold him a defective laser. Leaves me negative feedback because I tell him that the kipkay hack will kill a diode instantly and I'm not going to be responsible for replacing something that came to him functional. EVEN HE SAID IT WAS WORKING WHEN HE GOT IT!!! I'll post the emails I got from this moron.

Dear kenom,

ok...... im makeing a flashlight hack

There are 3 pins on the diode. one positive, one negative, and one photodiode. The diode came from sony.

yes... i work with lasers.... but this would be my 1st time.. makeing my own dvd writer laser.. so well see how it turns it out..

I recommend looking at Laserpointerforums.com for any help you need.

has it been shipped yet?

it was shipped on monday. You should have it in your hands by now. Hopefully.

alright.... i dont mean to seem like a jerk but this laser is fualty.... i had it 2 aa battarys and i measured 179mw on my meter at work...see here he says it worked but these are supposed to get 2000+ hours and this one only had less than one..... its dead and i put it in multiple casings (minmags) and changed the battarys many times ... now if there is anything you can do please contact me... I think the diode ran out but i do not want to drill it intill you see it..... Now i do not want to leave any feedback intill this is over with... if you would like me to send it back to you just tell me.... Thank you

You drove it unregulated? that is why it's dead. I clearly indicate in teh auction that current regulation in NECESSARY. unlike what kipkay says you CANNOT run your laser off 2 AA's without blowing it up. I can't warrant you treating the diode like it was NOT intended to run. Nor did I indicate I would on the auction.

I know... i had a 2mm pot above it so i had to drill out the glass.. i can send you a picture of all of it if you would like... like i sait i work with lasers from (Lasic vision) I inspect the 300p machines .. so i knew what i was doing..

I don't want you to think I'm indifferent to your plight. But, I do want you to read over this page.

You'll notice it's not just me that claims to not using a laser diode straight off batteries.

No this is what you said....

Up for auction today is a >200mw laser diode installed in a module.

No driver is included you must provide.

laser diode is capable of producing 200mw of 660nm energy.

3v @ 200-400ma

Each unit is tested before shipping and shipped FAST.

good for incorporation into your own product.

Just beacuse i used a mini mag flashlight dont mean that i copyied kipkay... In the lasic 300 the machine uses a 16mm P.O.T. so i know how these things are installed

Well, as you indicated. The laser WAS functional when you recieved it. I cannot be responsible for it after you recieve said working diode.

ok... its your feedback.. i can just make a new account it dont bother me.. ok?? Nice doin business with you...

yes but the laser was a peice of shit..

sorry you feel that way. I'm made hundreds of 200mw lasers from these very diodes. Using a "p.o.t." as you inexpertly refer to them gives me an indication of the experience you DON'T have when assembling lasers.

OK my rant is, that now that ebay has changed the feedback system so that I cannot leave negative feedback towards this jackass, I'm literally left with no recourse in alerting other sellers and buyers that this jerk is a crybaby when he doesn't follow simple directions.

What do you think? I think they should only allow negative feedback towards a seller when a dispute is won against the seller on paypal. Paypal you actually have to take the time to build your case. Unlike egay which doesn't care. Now I have an unwarranted negative feedback. stupid f*(*&kin ............... /rant

Oh and maybe some of those really really smart people out there that know lots more than I, can tell me what a P.O.T. is.

It's pure bulls***!!! You know how many people are gonna try and hold you hostage with the feedback? In your case, and im sure you know this already, you can comment on the feedback they left. When someone views the neg. they will see your side as well. Also you can still speak your mind on theirs, even though its a + >:(

To avoid future idiots, it may be in your best interst to up the price and include an assembled driver. Leave as little room possible for them to botch things up.

*sigh*

ebay has been going steadily downhill over the last 4 years or so...

I wasn't aware of this new rule... I'm kinda happy to hear about it though (since I'm only a buyer), I've been left negative feedback from sellers over "item not as described" and "item not received", then sent ransom emails saying that they'd only remove feedback if I did... since they had thousands of feedback and I only have 50, it stands to inconvenience me a lot more than them.

Maybe you can email the guy, be reasonable, explain what a driver is, and offer him 50% off a replacement or something. :-/

Anyways, the very least you can do is leave a reply to his feedback in your profile to explain the guy's a moron... by clicking on "feedback forum" in your my ebay page you can leave a little note on his feedback explaining your side of the story.

Well it seems that this is your only protection

ebay pages, found here- http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/feedback-extortion.html

"Examples of Feedback extortion

A buyer purchases a vehicle, and along with their payment sends an email stating, "If you don’t include high performance tires and rims at no additional charge I will leave you negative Feedback.”

A seller receives payment from a buyer and then tells the buyer, “Leave me positive Feedback or I will not ship your item.”

Examples that aren’t Feedback extortion

A buyer pays for an item and waits several weeks for it to arrive.  The buyer then emails the seller, “The item is already late, if it is not here by tomorrow I will leave you negative Feedback.”

A buyer receives an item and decides the item is significantly not as it was described in the original listing.  The buyer threatens to leave negative Feedback unless the seller allows them to return it for a refund."

So the buyer decides..... all they have to do is say it wasn't as described and ebay believes them?
I know that they are trying to stop tit for tat negs but how can the seller protect his/her reputation....
In this case the guy knows he is in the wrong and is kicking you for his ineptitude.....

My suggestion to you Ken is to use the "me page" option.
If you cannot respond to feedback anymore give him pos/neutral (if you can) feedback with a comment to say unfair neg, see my "me page" then you can write a general article saying that all your listings state that a driver is required, connecting straight to batteries will kill your LD...and so on then on all future listings you could suggest that prospective buyers read your "me page" before bidding.

Good luck whatever you do..

Oh I sure understand where the changes come from. it's an attempt to make a flawed system better. but in no way is ti making it any better. As a seller however, it makes it much more difficult to maintain a good reputation when a person can, without fear of repurcusion, disagree on the smaller little detail and leave negative feedback.

I think the thing that makes me mad the most is there's really no way to let people looking at buying my products, that I wasn't at fault. I did leave him positive feedback that wasn't postive in nature.

awww dude im sorry to hear that jackass wasted your time on responding to stupid emails...

Did they change that as well?

You can (or at least used to be able to) go into the feedback forum in my ebay, click "reply to feedback received", then leave a 256 character message explaining how he's a moron... it will still leave a negative in your totals, but if anyone scrolls down and reads the negative fb, your note will be there to explain it.

I noticed that new feedback stuff also. I went to leave feedback for a seller and a little winow popped up. It said something about sellers not being able to leave negative feedback now. I think that is a load of crap even though I don't really sell anything.

There is one thing I wish would change about the feedback system. I wish sellers had to leave feedback first.

I have my own Ebay problem going on right now. I bought a used 360 HD-DVD player on May 5th. The seller was selling through one of those "we sell your ebay stuff" places. They have not shipped it out yet so he retrieved it from them. He is going to send it out himself along with a refund for the item and shipping charges.
