Early DVD burner diodes - power?

Does anyone know off hand roughly what the minimum power required for ANY DVD burner to actually burn was? Early 1X burners - was there a threshold for burning regardless of speed?

I'm not sure this site existed that long ago? I certainly couldn't find threads referencing diode harvests from early 1X DVD burners

Anyone have knowledge on this point?
