DX Dilda 200 drains only 1 battery

I measured batteries after full discharge in laser with voltmeter. First battery has 1.6V(fully discharged) and the second has 3.3V(fully charged). I have 4xCR2 so I can use it three times then I have to charge it. It is really true. Using:
First time: battery 1 and 2
Second time: battery 3 and 4
Third time: battery 2 and 4
Try it! It is very interesting.
 





that cant be right, would someone else like to test this aswell ?
 
Yeah, I also noticed this, one battery drained more then the other one, be careful to don't discharge the RCR2 battery under 2v.
 
This happened to me with a 4xrcr123a flashlight. All four were fully charged and after a modicum of use, one was at 4V, one at 3.7V, one at 2V, and one at 0V. WTF kai?
 
your batteries probably have different capacities, resulting in one or the other draining faster (probably a manufacturing defect)
 
Yeah, it has nothing to do with the laser.. These batteries are not very high quality. Every now and then one is very bad. It can also be the result of underdischarging or overcharging.

When you use a good one and a bad one at the same time, the bad one discharges much faster, and gets damaged even more.


You need another pair of batteries.



P.S. Oh and the cycling you're doing is damaging them even more, as they don't have the same charge, so again one discharges lower with use. You shouldn't discharge them below 2V per cell. It's better to charge them too often, than to do this.
 
Oh, and i've had the same problem with just these green 3V rechargables.. I think one of them was bad from the start.

When a laser only uses one, this means a shorter battery life and lower power, if the laser is unregulated.
But if i put the bad one into the Dilda with the good one, it crapped out really fast, because of the weak one...

Are these bad batteries a real problem and could they damage the laser?
 
No, they can't damage the laser, they can only make it stop working faster. If one is bad, it's just that one battery, that continues going bad. They don't have protection circuitry, so undercharging happens often.

Otherwise, these are Li-Fe-POs, which are not as dangerous as Li-Ions.. If you happen to get a bad one, it'll just slowly get worse and worse..


But if you have a DMM, i would suggest you fully charge batteries, measure them, and use in the laser for a while and measure them again. If their voltages start going appart, select a pair, that stays close, and use that one.

Get more than just two, if your laser needs two. You'll need more anyway.
 
I ordered 4 of them in the first place, but to be sure (and because they're so cheap) I ordered another 4.
But they are still on backorder.
