DX 35mW Green Lab Module Review (Updated 2/12/08)

Re: DX 35mW Green Lab Module Review (Updated 2/12/

Hi everyone,

So for us noobs, can anyone break down what the two pares of wires coming off the PCB do? there are two pairs, one red and blue, the other red and white. If I understand correctly >1 of them is for a switch, but if I simple want to power the laser which should I use?

Actually I figured it out.

I have it running off 5.8 volts, drawing 405 mA, ill test the output this week at the uni. Very bright though.

What is this exactly?

that's the MCA crystal that does the IR -> green conversion

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I have been driving my so called 35mW green DX laser at 600mAH for a few days without any problems at all. Im not sure what the actual power rating is however, but it will burn just about anything you put in its path, other than white materials of course.

Does anyone know a realtively inexpensive way to measure output, even roughly, without a meter. Ive tried the green LED method before but I couldnt get very good results.

Re: DX 35mW Green Lab Module Review (Updated 2/12/

havent seen a ir filter yet in the pictures probably does not have any
would explain the burning

Re: DX 35mW Green Lab Module Review (Updated 2/12/

has any oen modified the 100mw dx red i wont ot put a senkat diode in one but i can get the module out

Re: DX 35mW Green Lab Module Review (Updated 2/12/

the unit does not have an IR filter, but the actual IR output is fairly low. at stock it was only putting out about 1mW of IR that was collimated with the green, increasing the power probably also increased the IR leakage but I don't think it's much to worry about
