well i jsut got my labby today the 100mw red from dx it goes nice bright for a min or 2 than it goes low i have fresh 9volt bats any know ells get this? or know what to do

1-you shouldn't be running a 5V module with a 9V battery.
2-You can always try messing with the pot on it.

If this is anything like the 70mw version it will not take kindly to too many volts, if you are using PP3 batteries you get away with it because the battery voltage sags long before components start overheating, get yourself a 4 AA holder and run it from that...leave the pot for a moment, turning the pot killed one of my 70mw.

Get the supply right, I am sure it will be fine.

Btw don't max the pot. Moving it a bit is ok but my 70mw red died after 15 hours with the pot maxed.

I have my DX 70mw pot's maxed out. Hasn't died yet, but if it does ill report it here.

i have the 100 mw verson and i have used 9volt batteries with no problems. the battery cant supply enough current for continues opperation. i have found that the best power source is 5 ni-mh batteries. 4 ni-mh batteries didn't give the same brightness.

btw, keep an eye on the two power diodes because they get a little warm.

Ive got the 70mW version i ran it on max pot off 4xAAA batts for ages its fine. I sold it off and its been 4 months and i haven't heard anything from the guy i sold it to.

I bought another one of these for my self and am curious to know. If i was to attach a standard DC plug to the unit and use say my phone charger which provides 6.5v at 300 - 500mA, would that be sufficient to run this laser instead of using batteries?

if whear any way tp put a more powerfull diode in this laser i wont to put a senkat diode
