Yep that is the one. Sure it would be nice if he modified every one but it is extra work to machine them out and not every build requires it so it is an option. It would also be nice if every host came with a contact board but some use drivers that press into the pill so no contact board is needed so it is also an option.

Is there ever a situation where a non-drilled pill is required or is more desirable?

Ok, so the driver pill for all lasers can and should be the 'drilled' type.

So the only feature about the driver pill which is required for a laser is the small circumferential 'ledge' which allows the round battery spring board + brass ring to the pressed into the pill.

Just to be clear here, I was only talking about the three hosts sold by Survival Laser. For those hosts the answer is yes, other hosts may be different.

NO. IF the driver is small enough, the pill can
