Kryton 1, Kryton, Kryton Mark I, Kryton Smooth, Kenbarrel, whatever ;D

I now deem it the SexyBarrel. I have spoken.

If I had the money I'd be all over that BR. :'( Hope it sells quick, I can't take the temptation much longer.

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

Thanks guys! So far there has been significant interest in all lasers, but it's not over yet!

Two more items for sale: assembly 'seconds' modulatable lab laser driver boards. These are professional pre-assembled modulatable laser drivers capable of up to 5A of modulation. They work well for driving blu-ray, long die open can, and DPSS green and blue lasers. They are 'seconds' because the board corner was burned a little during assembly, but are tested and perform just as well as the firsts. $25 each.

Hi, sure:
FlexMod_1.jpg

Here are the specs:
Power input: 5-9VDC
Analog Input: 0-12V max, usually you set to 5V full range
TTL input: 0-5V Off-On
Gain setting: 11 turn pot with 2 ranges 0-500mA, 0-5A output.
Bias setting: 11 turn pot range 0-1A output
Dimensions: 31x21.5mm

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

mmmmmm must resist!

i already ordered so many of your new flexdrives... that looks like a very nice driver tho. the huge black thing on the right is a pot correct?

looks like an excellent driver for a lab style or project box laser ... would be so nice to use for a Spirograph!

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

The huge black thing on the right is a power transistor, it's what makes it capable of controlling up to 5A of current. The pots are the white boxes and black box with silver circle.

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

The IR and green lasers have been sold!

Phat specs.

Would it be suitable for indefinite running of a PHR-803T labby? At say, 150-180mA? Around that area? Would I need an additional heatsink for it (the driver)? (And if so, you got one you could bolt on? :D)

If that's a yes for all those questions, put me down for one :)

That Kryton is just gorgeous!! What I would give....

Yes, it could drive a PHR labby indefinitely with only the included heatsink. The bolt is included :)
What you choose to drive the PHR at is your shoice, but when making a labby, do consider the lifetime of the diode when run continuously.

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

What kind of voltage output does it do? What kind of voltage would I need to drive the driver at to run a PHR off it? What kind of mA input would it need as input as well?

I'll probably run it a little lower, around 120-140mA. Somewhere around there, so I can get a constant output. I'll have a look and see what other people are running them at in continuous ways :)

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

For the PHR, you should power the driver with 6.5-9VDC. For the current input, you would need to give it 40mA more than you drive the laser with, that should be plenty safe.

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

Does it have a pot on it to tune the output current?

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

dude, it has 3 pots: one for setting lasing threshold, one for setting the current, and one for 'speed'

Re: DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW

Good enough for me! I'll learn about it when I play with it a bit.

I'll take it! :D
