Need some help with pen laser repair!
I have a 35mw Viper Series Dragon Laser. It has been subjected to heavy usage during public astronomy programs.
Through a series of events, the laser pointer fell apart…literally. It came apart into 4 components:
1) The main body, with the batteries
2) The diode/lens unit
3) The rubber button
4) The circuit board that controls it all
I managed to get the button and circuit board back together. However, in the process of trying to figure out how to reconnect the diode/lens unit, a small gold wire snapped off. It looks like now that this was supposed to connect the diode/lens unit with the circuit board.
Is the laser still salvageable? Or is it shot? Bummer if it is! It was really good and really powerful….
