Yeah it looks like a lightning bolt is going straight through it. Was that a diffraction grating or something else to make that time tunnel?

All I used was a motor with an offest mirror - the "standard" tunnel effect, and used a long exposure on that frame to get all the funkily-squiggly stuffs in there

He's talking about how the OP wrote and drew stuff with his laser. He used long exposure settings on his camera and moved the laser around quickly.
