Hi,

This isn't a typical B/S/T thread, but we're looking for help and willing to pay for it - so it kind of fits at least.
We are looking for help designing a custom host for our upcoming 57_ nm "true yellow" lasers (more info on those will be coming soon.) The host will be CNC machined from steel. I specifically was hoping to get help from someone in the laser community - laser enthusiasts know what laser enthusiasts want!

We've got some pretty specific ideas & inspiration; overall, we want our host to look like a work of art, and also fix the flaws that many other hosts have (e.g. looking great without the risk of rolling off your table.)

Only the exterior needs to be modeled - we will handle the interior.

The budget for this project is around $750 (negotiable, depending on experience, time and results.) We are looking to have a finished design within two weeks at most.

If you want to take on this job, you should have appropriate experience with CAD as well as knowing enough about CNC machining to understand what is and is not possible.

If you are interested and have the skills to help (or know anyone who can), send us a PM. We'll provide you with further details so you can get started.

NOTE: Host has been finished, no further requests will be accepted.

I have experience in fusion 360 and with designing DYI hosts out of scrap like copper tubing, I can even supply you 3d printed prototypes before we land on a final design. I can also help with the circuitry if need be I.E a custom driver or other features, I will be happy to assist you with this, it sounds amazing to have something in the 57¬ range! I once had a 574 and it was really a true yellow! I'd love to show you examples of my fusion 360 projects if you'd like!

I haven't taken the challenge of designing my own host yet. I have designed some laser diodes and heatsinks.1000025489.png1000025488.png

Good evening! Our host has been completed, so we are no longer in need of assistance with the job.
More info will be revealed soon, we're really looking forward to showing off our new laser host!
