Does the dx True Green Laser 30mw have a IR filter

Re: Does the dx True Green Laser 30mw have a IR fi

I'm still on the fence about this... a great deal of the IR that exits these lasers does diverge relatively quickly (about 1/2" @ 2ft, 3/4" @ 4ft, 1" @ 8ft, 2" @ 16ft).  However, it still has a very sharp bright beam at the center.  I don't think this coherent beam is that strong for 30mW lasers, but for stronger ones it could definitely be a problem.  This is, of course, assuming you're using goggles, which supress the blink reflex and/or the reduction of the size of the pupils.

Here's the IR from a True 30mW at 16 feet:

That looks like it has a better divergence than the green :D Anyway, the danger lies in using goggles tu burn stuff and staring at what appears to be a faint dot. Then wonder later why you're having headaches.

Actually you're right, that IR dot's divergence looks better than the CNI's green divergence. I should do a comparison some day.
