Do 565nm - 585nm wavelengths come in Handheld Pointers?

It didn't appear that as cyan as I thought it would until I shone a 520nm up alongside. Then the cyan was almost perfect to my eyes. Weird. The colour is a keeper for sure.
I have a 488 that has a tiny hint of green in it compared to this one. So I assume that is probably 489nm? The problem is I previously thought that laser had to be around 493nm lol

Was your 488 spectrod Peter? If so what wavelength is it and what colour would you call it? I recently got a 491 and was surprised by how much green was in it. I know our eyes do differ however.
I can't remember?? Lifetime had some of them in his stock and i'm thinking they were early ones which came in closer to 488 or actually a tiny bit lower?? I also bought a fan cooled labby with the 488 a little later. Yup I know some ran as high as 490 and the only way to really know is to spectro it.
But by my eyes both the host and labby are clearly more towards the blue. I really don't see any green. My cheapy phone pic's the color up ok. I was pretty pleased with the color and thought there would be a green tint but I can't see it.
This is the labby I think? because I have another at 490.

Lucky to have some without green at all. I've got two lasers having an identity crisis. lol
I have a laser that is blue wanting to be green at night. And a green that wants to become blue but is struggling until it sees a greener laser. :p

I measured one of these for Jeff, BowtieGuy, and it came in at 491nm. It really is difficult to guess by the color you see because that can change under different lighting or when viewed next to another laser. Some of those Sharp diodes got all the way up to 493nm. I see plenty of green in those.

Yes, this is the most difficult thing I'm finding. The lighting condition affects your observation. The Waterproof 488 I have will look blue with no green if the lighting is bright. Then it has green present if you shine it in dimmer conditions. The bloom will also change colour depending on where you shine it. This one however shows green most of the time.

The ones that look green all the time, at least to me, seem to be high at 491nm to 493nm. I really hate guessing at wavelengths according to color as they can easily change on you.

I'm basing my guess upon many different observations. It seems the point where blue becomes green is around 489-490nm.

It's time to play with my 2 again. Can't do it now as my cat is home and isn't at her palls place.
I will do some 445nm, 495 and a 505nm. Light and in the dark.. The brain will most likely play tricks on me..

Definitely worth playing around Peter.
You’ll realise how easy it is to trick our eyes into seeing different colours.

Yup, come to think of it i'm not sure I have a 495, did they sell them or were they labeled at 490?
Either way i'm curious. If you don't have a laser friend near by they will just say it looks blue or green, but that might not be a bad thing..

There was two variations at one point. One was a true 495 and the other 488. The 495’s gave way to the 488’s. The range that diode covers makes me think the 495 might of been a experimental batch to get that cheap 488. I may be wrong here. iirc, the 495 did disappear. If you don’t see any green I can safely say that neither of them are 495.

That would make it teal in color.

Yes, mine would be teal or I prefer aquamarine. But I was actually asking Peter what colour his one was.

HELP!!
Hello there, do anyone know if this BEAMQ are scammers or not? I ve sent them a payment 3 days ago (in CHINA) , and now they are telling me that
the swiftcode is wrong. I am going to speak with my bank for stopping the payment if is possible.. before send them again. but before can anynone confirm that they are not scammers? I ve order the ML764AA58T Mitsubishi 25Gbps DFB laser diode, 1310nm wavelength, 5 pieces for 99$ each.
Thank you, really appreciate if someone help

Sorry but this isn't the thread for such randomness.
