I have just bought this laser module cgi(dot)ebay(dot)com/100mW-DPSS-650nm-RED-Lab-Laser-Projector-Replacement_W0QQitemZ220120189689QQihZ012QQcategoryZ14984QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem How would I go About mouting this in a Dorcy flashlight case??

Congrats ! Post up a picture of it, next to a ruler or something so I can get a better idea of the size of it - try to get everything in the picture, too - I want to see what all came with it, and such. IF you do mount this in a Dorcy type flashlight, then you will lose the TTL blanking functionality I am sure. If that doesn't bug you, then let's get started ! Post pics, and then I will help from there !

I just bought it so it should be here in a coulple of days. Nice seller to he gave me $20 off the original price.

TTL refers to the ability to blank the laser, or turn it on and off, sometimes up to 40,000 times per minute....it is what enables laser shows to write your name, or do animations, without having to tie everything together with a line and such...

3-5v, so any mixture of batts from two alkaline AA's(3 volts), three alki AA's(4.5 volts), three or four AA NiMh's (3.6 or 4.8volts), one CR123 (3.6 volts), etc.........

I think I would rather put it in a radio shack project box just because it easyer  But I want to use a cr123 battery because they are small. Do you know of any cr123 battery holders?

No - unfortunately, I do not....you could try digikey.com they have EVERYTHING !

Turns out digikey does not have everything they don't have cr123 holders :'(

Well what Im trying to find is the smallest battery with at least 3 volts

Any suggestions?

Edit:  It also has to have a battery case

Well, you can get a two AA holder from rat shack that has an on/off switch on it, and two wires coming off of it. That would give you the three volts you need.....I cannot think of anyone - hmmm maybe batteryjunction ? Check there - or buy an inexpensive CR123 flashlight from DX and use it as a power supply !

to make a cr123 holder I took a c holder and cut it in half cut out the needed plastic to make it the right size and viola a holder for my cr123
Ugly as heck but it works.

would this battery work it says it outputs 3.0 volts
