Disection and Repair of wicked lasers krypton S3 need help

Well if you can focus the IR and it doesn't burn anything, then that's probably the problem. If it does burn, some really close up shots of the crystals trough a magnifying glass or microscope would be helpful.

Hey peoples, nerds and wookies. ok so yeah first post. i know, but i was lead here by a google search so...

ok this is exactly whats happening with my kypton. and from a brief look it seams there are a fair few issues with WL laser range. i got mine pretty much when the green krypton was brand new. used it till the battery was dead x mas day. turned it on a few times the day after to show a mate or two. have used it two times for art photos. and three times for star gazing briefly. i also used it once to show my mates son about light and science hes just started year 7 at the time. my main use has been hunting. i have a good eye for spotting game. if i take a friend or family up i am like see the rabbit. no, turn on WL aim about a meter or two below it and say just above there. i have used this laser prolly 20 times in total. and drained the battery maybe 3-5 times if that. i have had it for 3-4 years. it rarely gets any use. any ways took a mate hunting in the morning. hes hopeless but thats beside the point. he couldnt see a deer if it was pissing on him.

started early, crack of dawn stalked till mid day. was on some rocks over looking the paddock. used the laser twice in the first 2 hours maybe once or twice around 10am. then twice at these rocks. its a bit hard to see in a fully bright day but if you start close enough you can follow it on the highest setting. now used it briefly the night before and the morning and night before.

so before i go further some history
now when i first got my laser. the pin for some reason never quiet worked right. it wasnt till i over torqued down the screws on the tiny connection plate did the pin keep a constant connection. till i did this for the first few months you would be using the laser and it would just cut out. id have to turn it off and on again rattle it, jigger the pin then finally i worked out if i twisted the pin 90 degrees it would keep a connection this was before torquing the crap out of the screws on the little plate.

any ways long story short we started to head back to camp after sitting on these rocks for about 45 minutes. we went up the hill to the tree line come over the ridge and i seen a rabbit. stopped my mate turned on the laser. started lining up the bunny to show him its location when it cut out. sigh

off and on again

first though ah the battery... checked my indicators na still has life. maybe my pin is acting up again gave it a twist 90 degrees. tried to fire it up again hum. its pretty bright out but we are in the shade. i should at least be able to see the safty mod blinking on my hand. its not even going into solid low beam. and when i put it on solid high next to nothing a tiny, tiny little glow. wtf. thought maybe it was the battery.so life goes on, my mate couldnt see the rabbit to have a crack at it and it eventually moved. walking back rattled the laser a few times, tapped it on my hand tried firing it up again nope. i got back to camp, got under the sleeping bag made it dark tried firing it up. no joy. figured it was the battery thought not allot i can do about it out here.

got back home two days later charged battery. nope still nothing. perchased a new battery, charged it fully tried that still not working. i get a faint green glow on high thats it. hum i see some red in there on low mod. is that the led from the batter indicator. hoooa nope. thats infrared felt that faint scratchiness on my eye. yep got my self. hum tested it with my night vision yep still producing infrared. green is really faint. but both are pretty much as bright as normal under the night vision.

i tap it a few times. seams to have no effect. i begin looking into my warranty. nope long past date, send WL a email... no response, two weeks ago and any googled info on how to strip this thing down. cos shit i have replaced battery's, glass, touch screens all sorts on ipods & ipads. cant be to hard to get this thing apart. well that looks like its not going to happen with out a angle grinder.

so my question.
is it's fixable and or can i pull it apart without damaging the housing. i have basic electronic knowledge.

as per the question above no its not able to burn anything anymore other than my eyes.

as a note three days of scratchiness is annoying but not as bad as coping some tig welders flash cos dang that hurts.

it has NOT been dropped, bashed. hit, lobbed, ran over or drowned in water like some sort of jedi tea bag.

only thing i have managed to do is unscrew the black duel pin hole cap, and the green duel pin hole lens since it died. beyond that i noticed the diode with white silicone securing it in place. had a look to come at it from the battery compartment that seams fruitless as well.

Any help, ideas, suggestions or answers would be much appreciated.

thinking about glue remover solvent and or hair dryer heat like working on a ipad screen. to get it apart (obviously when there are no combustible fumes)

$1000 au plus for a jedi paper weight used 20odd times before it shit its self. not happy jan
