IMO you shouldnt disable it if there was a way to.

ya, i think that they are too hard to open to mess with it

if your talking about the pen style lasers you have to remove the cap(pointer end). i wasnt worried about tool marks so i just used pliers to twist it out.

I've tried to twist it out too, but it wouldn't come out. Plus! I leanred it was attached to the insides so I ended up mis-locating my switch.
