Email AixiZ about their 5mW 780nm modules, they have the exact same housing as the 650nm, but they are in stock and they are 25¢ cheaper.

I got the really small ones. I was thinking of mounting it in one of those toy Star Trek phasers, but I haven't gotten that far yet. But for all around general use, most people like this one:

Yeah, they have the same casing, and your not using the original diode so it doesn't matter what wavelength it had earlier.

Why don't they show these on the website or eBay store? They don't even have 780nm lasers available in any form on either store site. I'd pay them the full $4.50 for the 5mW laser module without the diode...just the case. I just don't need a 10-pack for $25.

BTW, what color is 780nm or is it IR?
 
Aixiz has a package of 10 empty modules for $25.50 on the last page of their store. I ordered a package today and have not been told yet that they don't have them. They are called Laser Module Blanks Item# 110161706502

I am having a hard time understanding what you don't seem to understand... ;D In my previous post I posted three separate links to three different Aixiz modules. They will all work for the GB diodes. You said you would pay them the full $4.50 for a laser module without the diode. Since you can not buy one without the diode in it, what difference does it make if it comes with the diode?
 
@ Gazoo: True...

780 is IR and will be a faint pink before you go blind! ;D It's a bit more visible that 808nm, but still IR nonetheless.

Oh really? Then why do every one of your links go to a 5mW 650nm module which they are currently out of stock on for the next 2 weeks? If I just need the case, why would I order a module that has a backordered diode when I don't even want the diode? I was asking why the 780nm 5mW module doesn't show up on their website or eBay store, if you had taken the time to read my post.

Well let's see here:

For the first link I posted there are currently 79 modules available.

For the second link, the auction ended, but if you click on the link that goes to his Ebay store you will find the auction relisted and there are currently 200 modules available.

For the third link the auction ended, but if you click on the link that goes to his Ebay store you will find the auction relisted and there are currently 200 modules available.

I don't know how you get the idea they are out of stock.

If you want to know why the IR module doesn't show up on their ebay store, then contact them and ask.

The rest of your question is too confusing for me to answer. Sorry but I don't care to try to answer questions I do not understand. It has been explained to you these modules all work. If you don't want to order the diode with the module, then you will need to order the 10 pack, and you indicated you didn't care to. So I don't have any idea what it is you really want or expect.
