Here's the video

Anyone who want to do this mod you will need:
you dilda laser
a USB cable
and 5 mins of your time

First cut the cable and expose the 4 wires, attach it on your PC and with your DMM look for the two wires that put out ~5V.in my case they were the black and red.
Next, take out your swith and remove all the components so you will have the tailcap with the hole in the middle.
Then unscrew the top of your laser and remove the spring of the driver.Pass the USB cable through the hole of the tailcap and the rest of the host. Now solder the wires from the USB cable to the driver like in the picture below, screw them all back together and you're ready to lase!(the USB cable will be coming out from the back of the switch)

Optional:you can use some kind of glue to protect the wires from getting cut because they're really thin(i used hot glue)also,

Very convenient if you want to make burn holes in your computer equipment ;p

So... if you want to take your Laser outside... you need to take
along your computer.... or a very long USB extension cable...

BTW... did you check if the Driver PCB heats up...
If so... Hot glue is not the best thing to put on it..
Did you check to see how much current is being drawn
from the USB port... Would be interesting to know...

Now all you need is a battery holder that has a USB connector and 5V worth of battery :) this way you can have a portable (sorta) laser and still be able to use it while you wait on the batteries to charge.

i won't be using it outside.BTW my computer is near the window so i can point it out.The driver doesn't heat up much but isn't ptoblem because i don't use it for more than 1 min max. at a time.BTW can you tell me how to measure the current from the USB port?

Good idea...i will try that.
thanks

It's always going to be red and black. Red + black -. Green and white are data.

Like KB said they have options for you to toss some batteries into a batt holder and run them just fine (google CR2 Battery Holder) toss two in series (meaning -+-+ ) for the correct output and toss into a tin of some kind and plug it in.

I personally suggest you rehash your design, find the button guts you removed and modify it to fit a USB-B Type ending so you can just carry it around and put it back in the case without this huge cable hanging off its butt

yes nice but this is how i blew up my red dilda and i still wonder why.... just i used the 5 v usb power .......

hmm, my driver is different to yours?:/and yeah i have a dx 200mw dilda?
