Here... Compared to Brazil prices (around $500) for a similar *branded* model, this one is dirt cheap. Around $120 with 4 rechargeable cells and 4gb flash.
I want it for some shots.. of lasers etc, like good quality in close range.
Anyone expertised in camera can analyze the info (lens info) and tell me what it means, or if the camera is good for anything?

Thanks in advance all! ;)

There's not much info to go by, but forget 10MP:
Image Resolution 2816x2112 (6M), 2272x1704 (4M), 1600x1200 (2M)
At least it has a 3x optical zoom, which is nothing much to brag about either.
The quality of software/interface can only be speculated about.
Same thing goes for the lens.

Still Image Format JPEG
If JPEG is the only format the camera allows, forget about image manipulation afterwards!

It's probably a pretty crappy camera, I personally wouldn't buy it.

You'd be much better off getting a good brand, used camera off ebay.de.
I'm not very much into digital cameras right now, so I wouldn't know which one to look for.:(

Nah, dude, forget this one.
It'll be mostly useful for quick and dirty snapshots, but you can get a camera that does that
for much cheaper.

I'm pretty sure even in Brazil you wouldn't have to pay 500$ for a POS camera like this one.

anyways, I'll not get it then ;)
Can you recommend me any for macro shots, or give some tips? Like, getting a common camera and attaching lens to get better macroing ;)

Obrigado Sr. Papendorf ;)

Oh yeah, I guess I misunderstood the table layout and it indeed supports pictures of 10MP.
But that doesn't really mean a lot. A good lens is much more important than pure MP count,
but hey, big numbers is what sells, right?
I bet you a 5MP camera with a good lens will make much better pictures than this one.

Well if you want to get into changeable lenses SLR-kinda cameras, you're getting into
the semi-pro level and, yes, those start at 400~500$ (new) for something halfway decent.

I've heard of people making macro shots by using nothing more than a cheap compact
camera and a magnifiying lens.;)

not for me. Big numbers = lies. At least DX don't lie, he says explicitly:
10MP (via INTERPOLATION)
hahah.
well well, my father bought a used 7.2MP sony cybershot DSC-W110. $60. ;P I'll try with the magnifying lens.. THX!
