Please send up your prayers and thoughts for those affected by this severe weather.

Around 3pm Central Time, an EF4-EF5 tornado more than a mile and a half wide ripped through Moore, Oklahoma, just outside of Oklahoma City. This cell's damage has been estimated to be greater than the tornado that came through this area in 1999 and killed dozens of people.

The damage I'm seeing on TV right now is incredible; if you've access, turn to the weather channel or any news channel. This area looks as if a nuclear test has been performed.

This is a simple news report of the happening:
Tornado smashes through Moore, Okla., leveling it - NY Daily News

Here is the Weather Channel report on it, with more information coming every minute:
BREAKING: Oklahoma Tornado Devastation - weather.com

The National Guard is being deployed to the location, as two elementary schools have been leveled by the storm, leaving children missing under debris at this point in time. 75-100 horses have been picked up and thrown by the storm, killing nearly all of them and depositing the bodies over a 3-mile radius.

Please keep the families and residents of this area in your thoughts and prayers as the rescue efforts and first responders act and clear this devastation up. There has not been a death/injury report as of yet.
The National Weather Service will conduct an investigation later today.

If anyone has any other valid links or information to share, please post it and I will add it to OP. Thanks guys.

Joseph

That is terrible. That picture is just devastating. I hope the people have been put in safety before this disaster.
