Defective laser - repairable?

I bought a couple of lasers from China. One was defective - the seller gave me a refund without wanting it returned, so I was curious if this is a repairable issue.

That looks similar to an issue on one of my Kryptons... I haven't really looked into but if that can be fixed... good luck

It looks like it is still lasing so maybe lens issue? Can you remove the lens to check?

I had something similar with one of my greens. There was a small alignment screw in the side of the module and I was able to improve the raw output by adjusting it. I also cleaned the lens too, which was a little mucky.

Try cleaning both ends of the lens and if that doesnt help, perhaps you can remove the module from the host and look for a similar screw?

Edit: It could also be an internal reflection in the lens. Do you have another one you could try?

Actually, now that I am home and can see the full picture, it looks EXACTLY like an issue I had with my old fasttech module. It was indeed caused by reflections, but I am not sure if it was from the lens. For me, removing the module and reinstalling it got rid of that artifact. My guess: reflections off of the aperture.
