DealExtreme 5mW 532nm true green laser pointer
First of all, I want to say, that I have this laser for a quite long time and to be exact - a year and a half. If anyone is interested - it cost 10$ back then, and now it is only 8$.
SHIPPING AND PACKAGING
The shipping took about two months, which I can't complain about, because it's free-shipping.
As usual - the laser came in a black gift box and the gift box itself was found in a bubble-wrap envelope.

LASER AND BATTERIES
The laser is sturdy, it feels really good in your hand and it also easily fits in your pocket. But there are some problems inside the laser, though there is nothing to worry about, because they are easy to deal with. First problem - it needs a little warm-up, before it can run on full power. Second problem is, that after using it a while, the spring oxidizes, and it gives an "illusion", that the batteries are dead. To solve this problem, you can take an eraser that would fit inside of the laser, and VERY CAREFULLY clean the spring (one of LPF users has told me this and it really helps !). I also want to mention, that 5mW lasers on DealExtreme are usually over-spec.
Can't tell a difference, eh ?
The label color may look misleading
Unscrewed laser pointer
The string is a little bit bent but it doesn't affect anything
Laser uses 2xAAA 1.5V batteries. Batteries that came with the laser, to be honest, are the worst, though they are good for the "first-look". I recommend buying either Duracell or Energizer batteries, or even better - rechargeable batteries.
The laserbeam is clean and nice. The dot is without any artifacts. It is hard to see the beam at day but it is easily seen at night. Also, better batteries can pull out a few more extra mW.
Unfortunately, I couldn't catch any beamshots, because either I'm a bad photographer or my cam is bad.
SHORT OVERVIEW AND CONCLUSION
Price : 8$
Laser specs : >5mW
Laser beam : 532nm
Batteries : 2xAAA
Shipping time : ~2 months
Bought from : DealExtreme.com
Full laser name : 5mW true green laser pointer (SKU : 91)
I give 9 out of 10, just because of the oxidation on the spring, but it is a common problem with pen style laser pointers. 8$ is a perfect price for an overspec, well built >5mW green laser pointer. This is a must-have laser, especially if you are a beginner.
DO NOT EVER POINT IT AT ANY LIVING CREATURE !!!
