I have a regulated 9V AC/DC power supply suppling an unregulated +/- 12V DC/DC power supply. Will the regulation from the AC/DC supply allow for a regulated output from the DC/DC supply?

Maybe. Are you sure the DC/DC converter is unregulated? Does that mean that the output voltage is dependent on the input voltage?

Unregulated meaning the voltage will change based on the load (due to internal resistance). In other words, the regulator does not compensate the voltage for the load.

Then no. It doesn't sound like it will be regulated.

Just the same: line voltage itself is regulated, but an unregulated AC/DC power adapter will still be unregulated.

A +/- DC/DC Power supply as you call it is a DC/DC converter
that outputs a noisy output that need to be filtered...
It is regulated at its specifications in voltage but the output
is not pure DC... It must be filtered...

If you look at page 3 of that Data sheet you will see
how to add regulation to that DC/DC converter...

Why would you want to change the DC/DC conveter
that was designed into the Nospin LPM....
If it ain't broken.... don't fix it...

If you have a clean regulated input to the DC/DC
converter... you only need to filter it's output...
