damaged Ophir 20C UAS-.5Y

My Ophir has a board much like the photo Jeff posted, equal's is quite sophisticated compared to mine. Surprised me how much more so.
The less complicated PCB is the one
in the OPHIR 20C A-1-Y heads and
are calibrated to 1V/W analog only
output.

Please do remember that supplying some semiconductor IC with reverse polarity could easily damage it.

i know .. but the connection is ok - and this circuit is reverse polarity protected (D2) ;-)

the RS232 connection will not be established. i have tried this with a FT232RL (works on my other Ophir Head). No Communication .. only a unaccurate analog output

Looks like you'll need to replace that Amp
PCB or design your own...

I suspected that ....

does anyone have the circuit from the A-1-Y Head ? maybe a simple InAmp will help ... i will try

OPHIR does not want to share their schematics.
A simple low noise OpAmp should do the trick.
