Damage from direct reflection of green Class IIIA?

If a laser beam from a RadioShack Green Laser Pointer (which is Class IIIA, maximum output below 5 mW) reflects off of a mirror and goes into someone's eyes, will it cause permanent eye damage? How bad would the damage be?

Depends on the time of exposure, but generally not. Even in cases of long exposure that caused damage, in most reported cases the damage was not permanent. Most people will blink before that happens.

you could take a direct hit and there is no possible way you could do damage before your blink reflex kicks in. There's a reason they picked 5mw to be the cutoff power for legal pointers. It's because 5mw is generally considered eye safe.
