Cutting coated cylindrical lenses

So i was looking at my correction optics and kinda hated the fact that they were 20mm tall when i did not need more than 5mm if that.
So i started my reasearch into cutting glass.
So i built a submerged glass optic cutter with 1mm glass cutting disks.
So here are some test.

Here is the proof!
No loss so coating is undamaged!

This helps take the cost of these lenses down by 50% so good news for us.

did you score em and break em or did you cut right thru them with your wheel?

looks great! big huge tall lenses would had looked dorky! LOL

nope just made a line with my sharpie and put them threw the wheel.
Tested it on some casio lenses first.

yup but very thin ones.
They cut very well and very fast threw the glass.
Im not sure if i would want to do this on large scale but for cutting my personal set so i have more to work with is always good.
