Customs in Europe

Hey everyone,
I want to ask if anyone knows, do customs check packages between European countries? For example Cyprus and Another European country?

The customs can check the packages no matter where they came from but they won't tax the goods because of the EU regulation. Shipping inside the EU is free of tax and import duties.
The inspection rate is rather very low, almost non existence.
