"Customs Clearance" for five days? Should I be worried?

As many of you know, I recently returned my 50mW DL Spartan 50 to China for an RMA. The laser arrived at ISC (which I assume means International Shipping Center) on the 19th. When the tracking status changed to "customs clearance", I thought that I was in the clear and the laser was on its way to China.

Now, five days later, nothing has changed. Is this normal, or should I begin to worry?

Thanks,

Rob

I routinely experience a week or so before it pops out. So it seems normal to me.

EDIT: Oops, my experience is only for inbound but it may still apply if it's the same people.

or sometimes the tracking stop once it out of the country.... i've experience like this with usps..

So there's like a 50/50 chance right now that it's either siting in Miami or that it's on its way to China?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm definitely hoping that tracking just stopped.

Well I suppose that this thread is kinda turning into a documentation of shipping to China for those who haven't done so before.

Today the laser was passed through the ISC Miami and actually shipped out, with a scheduled delivery date of Easter Sunday.

Make sure to check the day it arrives. Which method did you use to ship it out Chicxulub? USPS? If so, tracking is going to be reduced to the bare minimum(if at all). You might see a scan in Beijing and that will be it until it gets delivered.

I normally just check tracking before I head to bed. Want to give it a good day worth to refresh :yh:

Now for some reason it says "Arrived at Facility: Miami."

I can only assume this to mean that it is back out of customs and in the hands of the people who will actually send it to China.

Hopefully. It also seems like their estimated delivery time of Easter Sunday is completely wrong, unless they manage to get it to DL in a day(doubt it). What kind of mail service did you get?

Hopefully it gets there next week :)

What I said above was just from the text that I got. After checking it on the PC, I get this:

Your item arrived at an origin transfer airport in International, Miami, UNITED STATES on March 26, 2016 at 2:40 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

I had paid over and above the $34 DL was willing to pay me to get international express shipping. It was guaranteed to get there in three days after customs clearance, so getting there tomorrow seems about right in that regard.

I'm expecting it to take a few more days, but here's hoping.

Just got a text that it departed Miami for China at 2130 edt. It might just make it back to DL on time-ish.

Ok, so as near as I can tell, the laser got to China either Sunday or Monday. I've not heard anything from DL yet on the matter (and for that matter, it's been a few days since I've heard from CNI on the deal im.working with them  )

Should I expect a week or two of a delay through costs on their end as well?

For a return? When I returned my labby IIRC it took about 7 days for World Pay Visa to refund me :)
