I was considering getting a 5mW 473nm and/or 589nm pointer from CNI. They're asking for $240.00 and $330 respectively. Is this a good deal, and are there other companies/people that sell them for cheaper? Also, is CNI a reliable company? (Are their power claims accurate, are their lasers well built, ect.)

That´s before shipping and wire transfer.

Had a lot of experience with CNI in the past. Most of them were good (in the end).

CNI is famous for its laboratory grade , stable and durable lasers.
Excellent beam quality ,almost always made to specs if not overspecs and excellent customer service.

of course, for one of the best , you'll have to be able to PAY for the best.

Its VERY expensive.
Even for a simple CW laser, you'll be looking at least least 2x the price of an average hobby grade laser.
To be frank , if you are simply going to use it as a laser pointer.
You don't really NEED a CNI , many of the folks on LPF such as Blord already makes lasers of superb quality for its price.
If you want a bench laser, eBay sellers such as LaserLands, Techhood or even folks on the LPF can get you builds which you won't be disappointed with.

Nevertheless, if absolute quality is what you seek.
Then go ahead CNI is the next best thing to other European laser manufactuers that are asking for 500% of the average price.
