Cleaning an IR filter without removing aperture?

Re: Cleaning an IR filter without removing apertur

All I can find for guides is that stupid transparent marketing attempt by dragonlasers, and that doesn't help, and only guarantees that I will never buy any of their products.

First, try to open the laser. I don't know how the cni ones come apart but I'm sure that they can be taken apart. Then you will be able to clean it easily, or remove it etc...

Unless the alcohol has impurities, which the distilled rubbing alcohol generally does not, it will evaporate without leaving any trace. I've used it to clean CCDs on cameras even. The canned air is then used to blow away anything that might have stuck to it.

Well, given the god-awful support on the manufacturer's side in all of this, I would never buy from them again.

It looks like my laser is probably totally fucked right now, which really pisses me off.
