I recently purchased a green laser pointer on ebay and it says on the sticker its a Class IIIb, ive heard this isn't possible.

This is what it says on the sticker:

• Power Output: 1mW
• Wavelength: 532nm
• Class IIIb PRODUCT

Can anyone clarify this?

You might want to change your Thread Title to read
milliWatts (mW) and not MegaWatts (MW)....

I highly doubt that the Laser only puts out 1mW...
It is no doubt a ploy to sell his >5mW Lasers on eBay...

Oh thanks, I would love to know what it really is then..

Well Class 3b is, by definition, >= 5mW, so if those stats are correct then it is not a Class 3b. However, it's more expensive to regulate the power to such levels, so the Class 3b label might be more appropriate.

It definitely says 1mW and at the bottom it says IIIb Product (of the sticker). Its no problem but its just strange
