Hi,
I am interested in buying some high-power laser diodes, but I don't know where to buy, I know about a lot of shops (Modwerx, StoneTek, Laser Surplus Parts, Dark Lasers), but none of these has free shipping. I need a free shipping because I live in Slovakia and I pay $30 just for shipping.

Do you know about some shop for me?
Thank you for answers :)

hitechdealz.com looks very interesting, thank you :) maybe I will get some diodes from there.

I get mine there and hosts and batteries too, he's really helpful if you have a question as well with great pricing.

Get hold of IgorT. He is in Slovenia

Peace,

first class shipping isnt anywhere near 30$... it should only be ~5$. some area are more expensive to ship to than others so there may be a small difference. if you want to look at modwerx just add items to your cart and calculate shipping during checkout. :)

$30 would be "global express." Heck for diodes and modules you could go with a flat rate Priority envelop (6-10 days) for ~$13.

daguin: I am from Slovakia, not Slovenia (it is not the same) :) But Slovenia is closer to me than USA...

 Thank you.

I am aware of the difference.

The referral to IgorT was simply because shipping between Slovenia and Slovakia would be substantially less than $30.

Hi,
I would like to buy this, because it is cheap:
650nm SF-AW210 Closed Can Red Diode in HeatSink [SF-AW210 Red in HeatSink] - $9.75 : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby!
But is it good? And is it easy to break the heatsink wihout breaking the diode? Did anyone try it at recommended 380mA ?

I run them routinely at 420mA. IgorT and I have pushed them to >500mA. I sell them in complete modules (module, diode, driver, wires, lens) set at 420mA.

I have only had 1 out of more than 100 returned for warranty repair.

Peace,
dave

it only decreases if it blows but other than that the power kind of levels off. its called the "knee" when referring to diodes.

Mine is putting out 310mW. IgorT's is putting out 320mW.

Remember, IgorT and I can rebuild them fairly quickly. You may want to stay below our ranges (although both of ours are over six months old at this point).

Peace,
dave

How big heatsink does it need for this power? And what kind of driver? I use driver with LM317T like this for my lasers:
