CPU sinks from hong kong are extremely cheap nowadays, and with a drill/lathe they can easily be modified to labby heatsinks with insane heat dissipation, like Flaminpyro's Maxsinks..

F.ex look here:
cpu heatsink lga 775 items - Get great deals on Computers Networking items on eBay.com!

That's an awesome heatsink for less than $5 shipped, with a fan.. How do the chinese do it??

I like them - if you could sell them at reasonable prices with aixiz sized holes in them i'd be interested.

The maxsink was a good idea, and i'd love to see more designs similar to that. Especially with 1 watt 445's hitting the market heatsinks like these provide a very good solution - at least for bench testing and measuring.

Getting them into a portable host is another story, but perhaps that is to be adressed at a later stage.

well I cut one out of the aluminum and it's about 2mm over my Costco Cree host id . . . dunno if I could sell them for $25 though, my neighbor makes them for me and it's a perfect press fit. and the sinks are about $8.00 if you buy about 10 of them . . . You actually have to sand down your module to get it to fit to your liking.
