Cheap 200mw red laser at priceangels - your thoughts

I have found a red laser rated at 200mw at PA : 200mw 650nm Focusable Red Laser Pointer with Safety Key Lock(1*18650 Included) $30.82 Free Shipping

It looks pretty snazzy, being in the same host as one of DX's better green lasers (sdlaser 301). It also uses 18650's, which is an attractive feature for a red laser.

I was just wondering what peoples' thoughts on this are. Will it be up to spec, will it be worth it, should I wait for reviews?
At $32 its almost too tempting to resist....

Been wondering the same thing myself. If that thing puts out decent power I'd definitely want to snag some up.

To tell you the truth, it is not up to spec, the output maybe terribly low (compare to 200mw).

I don't suggest you to order it now if you care much about output, for it will disappoint you.
You can wait for some time, for the accurate output will be released later.

Warning. The OP talks about a red 650nm laser, and John7788 talks about a green 532nm one!

I have several lasers in this host model. Some are green and others red. I think that this 18650 host with a RED diode of 650nm at 200mw is pretty plausible, besides this the 18650 batt is a bonus. For 30 bucks its a bargain IMO.

For comparacy (as they have said to have same/similar suppliers): DX lasers at 532nm has very often been off spec. However all the red lasers ordered from DX has been close to spec (as in 170mW+ for a 200mW rated).

I think you are doing a good deal on this one!

Yup, but red diodes are nowadays sooo easy to have that... Anyway a 18650 host like this, if you have some, are really good maybe his green lasers aren't up to spec, I'm just saying that this RED is a bargain. I adquired some time ago 50mw green hosts like this simply to turn them into high powered reds. 18650 red hosts are a good way to go. Almost every 18650 host is a good way to go, you know
