I have searched but not found much in terms of Canada laser laws
I have a dual 50mw Scanning laser show

If i was to use it for DJ/n & Events are there regulations on that?

Is crowd scanning allowed? or just above them? is there limits on public displays?

I have been to events which used very high power lasers, so just curious on actual regulations.

thanks!

I don't live in Canada but I'm pretty sure crowd scanning is banned. For public displays you might need some kind of permit.

As far as I know, there aren't any laws regarding the sale/use/import of high-powered lasers in Canada, but I know that in America, crowd scanning is banned. As for public displays, well, you'd probably attract unwanted attention.

Would it be safe/fine to use them as long as they were angeled up?
I have a buddy whos Dj/n in a few weeks, and he wanted to use my dual laser in his set. Also i may start selling them, so good place to demo them :)

If i do will just make sure its angeled up enough to be above the crowd. I have hard a hard time finding out any laws, every where is unclear.
I have been to a few events with super high power lasers they were on crowd but from a fair distance or reflected off somethings and onto them.

Try these guys:

Tell them what you are doing. The will provide you with guidelines as well as requirements.

I just sent them an email, I will let you guys know if i learn anything good.

Thank you

I just answered a different post re: laser laws in Canada, and then noticed this. If OP is still around and active here, I would be interested to know what became of your email to the CCRPB.

Canada has the same lasers in Airspace regs as the US, copied almost word for word.

I once worked with a Canadian laserist on a outdoor project, he did have to file for a NOTAM.
