Is there a driver you can use that will power an 803T at 100mA? Using 2 x AAA's

LoL. I'm building a small laser. I only have room for 2 X AAA's
You could always use 3.7v AAAs, they charge to 4.2v.

If you really want to use alkalines then try a lavadrive, the member Dr.Lava here sells them, for $20 a piece IIRC.

Make sure you use rechargables. The lavadrive cuts of current when the voltage drops below 2.5v, so you really cant empty the batterys very much.

This is actually what I plan on doing also :D But 2 NiMHs are way below the diode's working voltage so I doubt it will last very long or on higher currents. :p

lavadrive would not be useful for this application as it cuts out at 2.5v, not using the full potential of the batteries.

you could run it with 1 AAA, even half a triple A haha, if it could supply the current. Take a look at the tps61200

How do you calculate the amount of current the driver could supply based on the batteries you put in?
