My only beef with those are the button. I was wondering if it would be easy to swap the switch for a constant on/off.

I'm not sure. Just remember that doing so will probably void the warranty.

in a word...No... the Alpha is a very good laser the way it is, I just wrap a hair tie on it to hold the button down if I am going to burn things for a long period of time (3-4minutes) or if I need it to be on and steady :D

yes it is very easy to take apart if you search i even did a detail review of it and how to take it apart to pod mod it to get lithium power out of nimh batteries : ) best of both worlds anyways its their and if you cant find it just e mail me and i will be happy to help you out if i still remember as i have now moved on to the RPL series : )

Yeah I would never do it I use a little zip tie to hold the button down. Also I email CNI about the duty cycle of these type of lasers. They replied saying they have a 1:1 cycle of 30 seconds and after that they decrease in power. :-? I leave my EnVee on for minutes and don't notice any power decrease and it barely gets warm.
