Can oarfish predict earthquakes?

In research published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health in 2011, Grant and a research team found that tectonic stresses in the Earth's crust send "massive amounts of primarily positive air ions into the lower atmosphere."

Bullshit. If this was true, we would already be able to predict earthquakes ourselves since we have lots of various devices that detect charge.
 
And earthquake zones would smell like an old CRT TV with a leaky anode cap :crackup:
 
It would make more sense for the Japan and Chile quakes since they occurred on subduction faults which are located in deep ocean trenches.

Not sure how that would work for California since the San Andreas and Puente Hills faults are on land...

...Maybe those fish just hit an old mine lol?
