Can I run rckstr's MicroDrive on a 6v lantern battery? Are there any problems with doing this?

The Rkcstr can take up to about 16V. It's NOT recommended that you go near that high, but 6V is NOT going to hurt it. It should be fine should. I power my test units with a 12V power supply run through a Rkcstr driver..

Peace,

6V is fine, but it won't be enough if you plan to run a violet diode, red or IR, yes.

Also, just a correction, my most recent version of the driver, with the MOSFET protection on the input, has a max voltage of 12V, going over that may damage the driver (particularly the MOSFET). It can be bypassed, if necessary.

Also, FYI, feel free to PM me or post in my 'for sale' thread with questions specific to my driver, better likelihood I'll see it ;)

@rkcstr,

You probably hear this all the time,
thanks for building/ selling the miniature drivers, I know it's not for the profit ;)
