I found this in my yard. It is around 10 inches tall and looks like some type of tree or shrub.

Reminds of of sassafras, but my screen pic is really small.

Damn is there anything left that isn't labeled "Made in China"?
Sorry I don't recognize the plant.

Try taking a picture of one of the leaves flattened out.

I see the leaves as potentially different from each other, in that several seem to come form a common stalk.

If that is correct, it would be useful to show flattened versions of all of the variations if possible/applicable.

This already sounds much more interesting than people's opinions on the color yellow.

Since you can't grow POT there, good
quality red ginseng is a good crop too !!!!!

I have no idea. This is the first time seeing it. The fruit or whatever it is, is translucent. I'm going to check it every few days, weather permitting, to see what happens.

It's part of the plant. I found a mature tree just like this one back there. I got a reply from one of the local universities that deals with agricultural stuff. They said it is a southern red oak. Oaks produce acorns and I've never seen an oak with the type of fruit you see in the picture. I sent a reply to that e-mail. We'll see what happens. I have a live oak in my yard. It is the only tree that has been producing acorns.

I thought it was an oak based on the leaves, but the little horn bud thingys threw me for a loop. Plus, the leaves didn't look quite right.

I'm no tree enthusiast, though. I just remember the oak leaf from some stupid emblem to some company I don't even remember.
